Quality is everything at CSUN.
From the start of production until today, we have promoted the establishment and operation of high-quality facilities and production processes. Our manufacturing facilities are certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. The quality control systems are effectively, comprehensively and strictly enforced at every single production level - from material supply, cell and module production to the shipment of the finalized products. As a vertically integrated company, CSUN has direct influence on the product quality along the entire value chain.
To ensure product quality from the beginning on, external suppliers and their products are subject to a strict quality assurance process, including laboratory testing to ensure product compatibility and reliability and on-site assessment. Following this, continuous feedback and corrections ensure the quality and stability of our raw material supply.
At the beginning of the cell production process, the appearance and performance of the silicon wafers, the primary material used in solar cells, are inspected regarding visual appearance, thickness distribution, saw marks, deflection, electrical conductivity, resistance and service life. Following this, various inspections are conducted during the entire cell production process. The cells' weight, reflection, structuring, area and edge resistance as well as layer thickness are checked. Moreover, the refractive index, reflectance, fingerprint impressions are tested and the cells sorted according to electrical voltage. Temperature coefficients, light-induced degradation, soldering and torque strength of the connecting tracks are also subject to inspection.
In the production process, an income inspection of all materials bought for use in solar modules is conducted, e.g. backsheet covers, toughened glass, silica gel, junction boxes, frames, soldering powder and EVA sheets. The affixing, ordering and fitting of cells in the module are evaluated during module production, as well as the sheet lamination through EL measurement before and after the lamination process. After framing the junction box fittings are tested for secure fixation. After completing, the current-voltage-ratio and the visual appearance of the module are inspected. Final packaging and shipping inspections are performed before our products are packed and ready to leave the factory. Our staff works in strict conformity with product specification requirements at every step in the production process, engage in self- and cross inspections and perform random sample testing. We have also set up a module reliability inspection system, which tests the reliability of all the supplementary parts and materials for our modules. Furthermore, annual third-party testing is conducted by TUV and ISE.
